Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

I offer both. I have an office in Bothell, Washington where I can meet with clients in person. Virtual sessions are available to clients as well, throughout Washington and California.

What can I expect during my first session?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust. I’ll ask questions to better understand what’s bringing you in, your history, and what you hope to get out of therapy. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable—there’s no pressure to dive into everything right away. We’ll also talk through any questions you have about the process.

How long are therapy sessions, and how often do we meet?

Individual sessions are scheduled for 50 minutes. Most clients begin with weekly sessions to start, which helps build momentum and consistency. Over time, we may decide together to meet less frequently based on your goals, progress, and preferences. The frequency is always something we’ll collaborate on to ensure it feels supportive and sustainable for you.

How long does therapy usually take?

Therapy is a highly individual process, and the length of time can vary depending on your goals, the issues you're working through, and how deep you want to go. Some people find meaningful shifts after just a few months, while others choose to engage in therapy longer-term for ongoing support and growth. We’ll regularly check in on your progress and make sure therapy continues to feel helpful and aligned with your needs.

Do you accept insurance?

I am in-network with Premera, Lifewise, United and some BCBS plans in Washington (individual clients only). I am considered out-of-network for all other insurance companies, for California clients and for couples therapy. However, many clients choose to use their out-of-network benefits. If your plan includes out-of-network coverage, I can provide you with a monthly superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. I always recommend calling your insurance company directly to ask about your specific out-of-network mental health benefits. If you have questions about this process, I’m happy to help guide you through it.

What are your fees and how can I pay for sessions?

Individual Therapy and couples therapy are billed at $160 per 55 minute session. Payment is processed at the end of each session. I accept credit cards, debit cards or HSA cards.

What are appointment hours?

I offer appointment times between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Cancellations with less than 24 hour notice will be charged at $100.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Health care providers are required by law to provide a Good Faith Estimate to you when not using insurance. This estimate explains how much services will cost. Make sure it is provided to you in writing at least one business day before your appointment. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of services. If you receive a bill $400 or greater than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. For questions or more information, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
